Holiday Spirit

No matter what you celebrate or what you believe inside

When December comes around, the air has a fresh and special vibe

The season of giving, full of warmth, love, and magic

The hustle and bustle; such a holiday classic

If we’re lucky, the snow will fall

Turning the world into a white wonderland where our problems turn so small

As you breathe in the crisp and freeing air

You can feel the holiday spirit that's finally there

If the year got you down, and you feel hopeless and drained

You’re in luck, because the feeling of joy can’t be contained

The bright and shining lights that can change any frown

Wrapped up like a present as you walk through the festive town

The arguments and troubles that fill our minds all year

Are put on pause when you finally feel the holiday cheer

When the people who are always disconnected finally look up

And everyone gathers to laugh and clink cups

You realize just why we look forward to this time

To share a nice smile, or a greeting and rhyme

So, what makes the holidays so special that it brightens up the mood?

Is it the gifts, the trees, the delicious food?

The true meaning of the holidays is the real reason

The presence, not the presents, creates this season
